Some blades come out clean. Others roll out like a memory — dusty, cracked, and full of little surprises. The Steel Spoke is one of those.

I forged this one from farrier rasp — you can still see the old file lines under the edge grind if the light hits right. The blade runs 3 ¾ inches, with an overall length of 7 ¾. Heat-treated to 60 HRC, it's got the backbone for real work and the shape to move fast in the hand.

The handle’s where things get layered.

Mammoth bone starts it off — aged, fossilized, full of texture. From there, it shifts into carbon fiber-backed cholla cactus, with turquoise stones trapped in the resin like little bits of sky caught in sand. A turquoise trustone spacer cuts the line sharp, with black and white G10 accents to keep it all grounded.

I called it The Steel Spoke because it feels like a wheel hub — the center of something that spins, pulls, and keeps moving forward. It’s got old material and modern grit. It's strange and strong in equal measure.

This one’s for someone who rides out a little off trail, but never off track.
