Mesa Rider

This Saddletramp keeps things simple and honest. The blade’s made from a farrier’s rasp, steel built for the grind and sharpened to hold steady. It’s got that working edge you can trust, clean and balanced. The handle mixes red burlap Micarta with golden box elder burl and red-and-white G10—colors that nod to the western grit it was born from. Grey liners give it a quiet finish. At 7¾ inches overall, it feels ready for anything from the pasture to the pack. Built to ride along, not sit pretty on a shelf.

About the Steel

Cut from a farrier’s rasp, this high-carbon steel still carries the life of the forge. The teeth that once shaped hooves now bite through hide and rope. Strong, dependable, and easy to keep sharp.

About the Handle

Red burlap Micarta runs through the handle with a warm grip, paired with golden box elder burl for contrast. Red-and-white G10 and a burlap spacer bring color and texture, while grey G10 liners ground it all. Feels natural, holds steady, looks like it belongs out here.

About the Sheath

Sheath Included. Every blade leaves my shop with a hand-fit leather sheath. On its own, it’s worth $120, but I don’t sell knives without them. A knife isn’t finished until it’s got a sheath that matches it. Most sheaths you see out there feel plastic-y, like they’d snap if you bent them wrong. That’s not what I pair with these knives. These are cut from thick leather, stitched to last, and made in the USA. Over time they don’t wear out—they wear in. The leather shapes to you, softens to your side, and eventually feels less like gear and more like part of you.
